I wish, though, that I could turn off the line numbering

Just add the following to your css ;)

td.amc_line {display:none; }

¥

kguske, regarding the formatting, it is strictly a function of b2evolution's own codeblock tag with a lang="php" attribute. It just handles it. I wish, though, that I could turn off the line numbering, but, the browser does seem to handle copying just the data in the code column just fine.

Agreed on the tweak vs. redo approach. BTW, how do you enter the formatted PHP code in your post like that? VERY nice!

Astonish Me Code plug in??

Personally, I feel that the whole admin.php side of things needs to be completely re-written as well as the permissions model. For now, I am comfortable with just "tweaking", but eventually we should make this CMS really be much, much, much smarter about how it uses permissions and make them very easy to manage.

I think we should even include this in RN. I have never really seen the need to have two separate tables in the admin applet - if (as an appointed admin) you do not have permission to use a specific applet, it doesn't appear, so why even bother separating them visually.

Interesting approach to that. I think every super admin has felt that pressure. Good to know their is a work around.

Interesting post!
Although it does highlight one of *nukes deficiencies (decent access permissions handling) this snippet will no doubt come in extremely handy for giving access to admin applets to users you do not want to have full SuperUser access rights.

This will be very useful and I'm sure will be a useful reference source ;)

B2evolution, the blogengine you are now using, offers five presets of SEO optimization schemes:
In addition to Aaron Wall and Stephan Spencer, this version now includes search engine friendly presets recommended by Andy Beal (Marketing Pilgrim), Michael Gray (Graywolf) and Rand Fishkin (SEOmoz).

In the settings of B2evo this is very playfully implemented. Have a look at the screen here: http://b2evolution.net/about/pictures/b2evo_seo_settings_2_3_0.png
I hope you will find some time in the near future to review the work B2evo has done in this respect.

Good luck

Good point! :-) As you can see, I am needing to really get my head back into blogging. Been too busy working on another CMS team. I shall definitely do as you say as it is a nice reflection also on the hard work the B2evo team has done!

The developers of B2evo took great care in delivering a blogengine that is XHTML1 compliant out of the box. At the moment your blog is valid, so do grab the icons at http://validator.w3.org/ and place them on your blog.

Good luck

Back again. Going to see if you read this since you're not posting. But I did finally try and mess with my blog template to tweak, and see the problem you're talking about.

Since I do have a domain name, and if I'm still not doing other web pages thru you, I just need a CNAME - from you? then I could do it differently with them so can do custom layout.

Just can't do the FTP thing.

Yeah, I know, I know... if it was a "personal" blog, I might be posting several times per week, but since it is a technical blog, I have to have time to ensure a well thought out post.

Now you can see just how often I have a well thought-out thought! LOL.

I'm not there yet, and hope to not have future problems. Like you said, google blog is still working fine for me, but I do have their template for now. Still busy with end of summer life and not back into my web design. But my classes start soon and need to get going.

By the way, Dawson has another of his photos as the "photo of the week" at photoblog's home page. See - http://www.photoblog.com/dawsonswan
He could have won awards with his last photo of the week, but deadlines didn't work out. That's one of his 'daily blog posting' sites.
